Pine Island

The first icon you come to is the Matlacha Bridge. One of Florida's most fished bridges. It is the link from the main land of Cape Coral to the barrier islands of Pine Island Sound. Matlacha has changed it's characteristics from a fishing village to an artist community. The once fish homes that have been the main focus on the the only main road to Pine Island, now are all revitilaized and serving as the decorative and colorful artisian homes with thriving business, unique shops and eateries. The colorful transition have giving it a  look similar to Key West but right in our backyard. Come discover all there is to see, and taste some of freshest local seafood available arriving daily going from boat to kitchen.

Pine Island is home to not only some of the best back water fishing spots in the entire US, it is also home to several exotic fruit and vegetable farmers. The the warm weather and tempraturs never reaching freezing it has been the perfect environment for these farmers to produce some of the best mangos and other exotic fruits that are shipped all over the world. Pine island still is one of the unspoiled comunities Lee County has within it's limits. The abundant wild life will take you back to a day the once existed in our area, where you can hike some of the oldest indian villages in Florida. Yet minutes away there are some of the states largest shrimp, and crab fisheries going on. These parts have a great combination of farms to waterfront homes in paradise to choose from.
